Germany loves to say it has “processed” its past — but Random Dadaist thinks the national therapy session ended a bit too early. This exhibition dives directly into the emotional frostbite of Kaltland through a series of social plastics created over the last year: messy, poetic, angry, funny, and painfully accurate snapshots of life in a Germany that feels increasingly like itself again (and not in a good way).
The works explore Berlin’s shifting atmosphere — the slow creep of rigidity, the return of cultural humorlessness, the selective empathy of a society that performs progressiveness while reproducing old forms of dominance. It’s political, but also deeply absurd, because how else do you survive this place?
As a guest performance, TRVL MCHN unleashes a generative noise-poetry piece titled “Eine Tüte voller Scheisse für Kaltland.” Think: sonic attack meets love letter meets rage bouquet. A performance that hugs you and insults you at the same time.
Fundraiser for Ida Nowhere
This event is also a fundraiser to keep Ida Nowhere alive.
The space is run by volunteers, powered by community, and currently threatened by the same rent inflation that is erasing subculture across Berlin. We’re raising money to pay rent, keep the doors open, and protect one of Neukölln’s last non-commercial art spaces.
Come for the art — stay because the city needs places like this to survive.

Spontane Ausstellung mit sozialen Plastiken über Deutschlands angebliche „Vergangenheitsbewältigung“, die in der Realität eher Verdrängung + Kaltland-Stimmung bedeutet. Noise Protection Places or Silence Pavilions | Vince van Geffen
Our neighborhood is very lively. Its sidewalks are full of people, its streets filled with traffic. Everywhere there are sounds: voices, shouting, music from shops and cafes, the roar of traffic, the brutal violence of a jackhammer.
These models of so-called noise protection places are the plastic expression of the sometimes suddenly arising desire for quiet. Here, as I imagine, one can briefly escape the noise of the city.

Liebe Freund*innen und Kunstbegeisterte,
Ida Nowhere freut sich riesig, euch zu 48 Stunden Neukölln einzuladen. Kommt vorbei und genießt ein spannendes Programm aus Veranstaltungen und Ausstellungen, die eure phantasies beflügeln und euch inspirieren werden.
Während des gesamten Festivals präsentieren wir:
Lärmschutzorte, oder Stillepavillons | Vince van Geffen
Unsere Nachbarschaft ist sehr lebendig. Ihre Bürgersteige sind voller Menschen, ihre Straßen von Verkehr gefüllt. Überall sind Geräusche: Stimmen, Geschrei, Musik aus den Geschäften und Cafés, das Tosen des Verkehrs, die brutale Gewalt eines Presslufthammers.
Diese Modelle sogenannter Lärmschutzorte sind der plastische Ausdruck des manchmal plötzlich aufkommenden Wunsches nach Ruhe. Hier, so stelle ich mir vor, kann man sich kurz dem Lärm der Stadt entziehen.

Präsentation der bisherigen Ergebnisse: Begleitet uns erneut zu einem aufschlussreichen Blick auf den Fortschritt und die künstlerischen Offenbarungen des Festivals.

Besonders mit Blick auf die geplanten Verschärfungen des Asylrechts möchten wir unsere Solidarität für geflüchtete Menschen auf Lesbos zeigen – wir stehen ein für ein offenes, solidarisches Europa!
Wir laden ein zur Finissage der Werke geflüchteter Künstler:innen, die im Hope Project auf Lesbos entstanden sind.
Auch wird es wieder eine Verlosung geben und damit die Möglichkeit, eines der Kunstwerke zu gewinnen ✨!
Ab 19 Uhr wird es wieder eine vegane Küche für alle (Küfa) auf Spendenbasis geben. 🫕
Zudem haben wir einen kleinen Input zur aktuellen Situation für Geflüchtete auf den ägäischen Inseln aus erster Hand vorbereitet.
Da es an allem, aber vorrangig an „Männerkleidung“ in kleinen Größen mangelt, wird es auch wieder eine Spendenbox für Kleiderspenden geben.

7. Dezember 2023 ab 19:00 geöffnet ab 20:00 Vortrag
Hintergrund
Im Juni 2023 haben sich die EU-Staaten auf eine Verschärfung des europäischen Asylverfahrens geeinigt. Gleichzeitig harren noch immer tausende geflüchtete Menschen unter unzumutbaren Bedingungen auf der griechischen Insel Lesbos aus. Wir sind enttäuscht und fassungslos über die geplante Reform und laden deshalb ein zu einem Soliabend für das Hope Project Greece, das sich seit 2015 auf Lesbos für Geflüchtete einsetzt.
Neben der Versorgung mit Kleidung und Hygieneartikeln wurde mit dem Hope Project ein geschützter Ort geschaffen, an dem die Menschen sich kreativ mit der eigenen Situation und dem Erlebten auseinandersetzen können. Das Projekt bietet einen Raum für Kunst, Musik, Tanz, Theater und Austausch, an dem Künstler*innen ihre Talente entfalten können und eine Stimme verliehen bekommen.
Ein Teil der auf Lesbos entstandenen Kunstwerke hat nun seinen Weg nach Berlin gefunden, wo die Bilder im Rahmen des Soliabends ausgestellt werden. Wer schon vorab einen Blick auf die Bilder werfen möchte, findet hier eine Auswahl.
Spaces of Encounter is a new feminist-FLINTA* social collective based here in Berlin. We share food and creative mediums as a catalyst for conversations about artistic, political, environmental and cultural issues. We are pleased to invite you to our next event De/coloniality of Drinks on the 8th of November in Ida Nowhere (Donaustr. 79) from 7pm onwards.
Our event will attempt to offer a feminist exploration of Assamese-Indian, Bataknese-Indonesian, and settler colonial-Australian teas, sugars, and spices. We will reflect on rituals surrounding their preparation as warming drinks while discussing colonial histories and current conditions for women workers on plantations. Attendees are also invited to share their own de/colonial drinks and stories.
As always, there will be a delicious meal accompanying our discussion. This time we will be serving a vegan meal of dahl and rice (with Indian spices and home-grown chillies).
This event is open for everyone, with no tolerance for discrimination of any kind.
We ask you to pay an entry fee of 8 euros to cover our costs for ingredients and a contribution to the Ida Nowhere space, with any extra held over for the next event in spring. However, we will not turn away anyone for lack of funds!
