Due to the economic crisis in Argentina increased the number of people who is collecting informally recyclable material in Buenos Aires. This growing phenomenon in the beginning of the millennium elicited the formation of groups pushing forward negotiations with the government to formalize waste picking. Specially the groups travelling from the Suburbs in the „white train“ to the centre of the capital were affected.

In the late afternoon when people como home from office, it is when the so called cartoneros, scavengers, start to collect recyclablematerial in the streets of Buenos Aires. In still working the camera observes the steps of cartonero labour- collecting, separating and classifying to be prepared to sell the material.
